Having grown up in Queens, NY, with limited funding for training, Marcus and his father had to find other creative ways to get his game to the next level. through playing at parks and high schools throughout his life, Marcus ended up achieving great success as a junior tennis player and landed a D1 scholarship at Hofstra University, which led to him becoming a professional training partner at the US Open and the New York Open, playing with the likes of Marin Cilic, Simona Halep, Bob Bryan, Dominic Thiem, John Isner, and others, he quickly became more acquainted with improving his game through the help of some of the top coaches on the tour. He realized that many of the pros use statistical and strategic analysis, and wanted to bring this knowledge and opportunity to the juniors in the NY area who couldn't afford high priced coaching. Hence, came the idea for Courtalitics.
